A Health Coach is a supportive mentor and wellness authority who works with clients to help them feel their best through food and lifestyle changes. Instead of prescribing one diet or way of exercising, Health Coaches tailor individualized wellness programs to meet their clients' needs.

Relationships, exercise, career, and spirituality are just as important to your health as the food you eat. Health Coaches understand this and take a holistic approach to supporting the whole person. Find out how health coaching stacks up against other health and wellness jobs.

ABOUT ME

HannahHudsonPhotography.SaraHarbertHealthPortraits-167

As someone who struggled with their relationship with food, weight gain and digestive issues, I know just how difficult it can be to find the right balance around nutrition.  Having been on almost every diet under the sun for over 10 years – Atkins to veganism, juice cleanses to low-fat diets – I was queen of yo-yo dieting.  My experiences varied slightly, but the end result was always the same: my weight ended up back where it was or above when I started.  Meanwhile I began to distrust myself and my choices, I lost sight of how I was truly feeling, and my sense of failure and anxiety around food deepened, not to mention the adverse effect all this had on my digestive tract.

Although I continue to learn and grow in my health journey, over the past few years I have arrived at a place of peace and balance around food, nutrition, and self-image.  I’ve finally let go of the reign that ‘willpower’ and ‘restrictions’ had enslaved me to and adopted a view of abundance, freedom and empowerment with my nutritional decisions.  I’ve learned the difference between a craving, an emotional eating trigger and a nutritional signal from my brain.  And most importantly, I’ve regained that connection and sense of trust in myself, and am passionate about helping others find the same confidence, clarity, liberation and joy in a balanced view of nutritional well-being.

I graduated from IIN where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I work with my clients to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

Each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as love and relationships as well as career and money. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life.
